Identity verification is one of the most important steps on Passion Hub. In this article, we explain why we ask for it, exactly what you need to provide, and how to get it right the first time.
Why is verification required?
To keep trust on the platform, one simple rule applies: a listing only becomes publicly visible once its owner has been identity-verified. That means every listing you come across on Passion Hub is linked to a real, verified person. This lets visitors know they're dealing with a genuine advertiser, and it also confirms that everyone on the platform is 18 or older.
In short: verification isn't there to make things difficult. It's there to keep Passion Hub trustworthy and safe for everyone.
What do you need to provide?
Verification consists of two parts:
- A clear selfie of yourself.
- A photo of your passport or ID document.
You upload both during the verification step of the registration process, or later from your profile if you didn't finish this earlier.
Tips for a good photo
- Make sure there's enough light and avoid backlighting or shadows on your face.
- Hold the camera steady so the photo is sharp, not blurry or shaky.
- Don't wear sunglasses, a cap, or other accessories that cover your face in the selfie.
- Photograph your passport or ID document in full, with all four corners visible and the text clearly legible.
- Use a neutral, even background for your document photo, without harsh reflections.
What happens to my documents?
Your documents are stored privately and handled confidentially. They're used only to confirm your identity and age: never shown to other users, and never used for anything other than verification. You can trust that your information is handled with care.
Not verified yet? You can still do it later
Skipped the verification step during registration, or didn't quite finish it? No worries: your account still exists. You can upload your selfie and passport at any time from your profile. As long as this hasn't happened, though, your listing will stay invisible to visitors. Don't wait too long once you're ready to get started.
What if my listing still isn't visible?
If your listing is fully filled in but still doesn't appear in search results, the most common reason is that identity verification hasn't been completed or approved yet. Once that's sorted, your listing goes live automatically.
