Availability and blocked countries

Visitors want to know when they can reach you, and you might want to stay invisible to certain visitors. Both are handled in step 4 of your listing: your availability / opening hours and the optional blocked countries setting.

Setting your availability

While creating or editing your listing, you can indicate when you're available. This gives visitors an instant, clear picture of when you can be reached, without them needing to contact you just to find out.

Some benefits of well-filled-in availability:

  • Visitors immediately know whether it makes sense to reach out right now.
  • You avoid questions outside your preferred hours.
  • Your listing looks more professional and trustworthy.

You can adjust your opening hours at any time via Managing your listing in your dashboard, for example if your schedule changes or you're temporarily less available.

Blocking countries for extra discretion

Would you rather visitors from specific countries not see your listing? You can block those countries. Once a country is blocked, your listing is no longer shown to visitors browsing from that country.

This is a handy feature if, for personal reasons, you'd rather not be visible to visitors from a particular country, for example your own home country or a country where people you know live. It gives you extra control over who gets to see your listing.

How do you set blocked countries?

You'll find this option in step 4 of the listing wizard, or afterwards via Managing your listing. You simply select the country or countries you want to exclude. This setting is entirely optional: by default, your listing is visible to visitors everywhere.

Combining availability and blocked countries

Both settings work independently and can be used together. For example, you can sharply define your opening hours while also blocking certain countries, giving you precise control over when and for whom your listing is visible.

Good to know

  • Changes to your availability and blocked countries apply immediately once you save them.
  • These settings don't affect your identity verification or your listing's status: they're purely about visibility and communication with visitors.
  • Not sure about the right setting? You can always adjust it later via your dashboard.
